Free Concert in Center Park: The Glastonbury Ukulele Band 07-18-2019

Press out your Hawaiian shirt and get ready to lounge!

The Glastonbury Ukulele Band plays popular songs from many eras. For several years they have accompanied a monthly community-wide singalong in Glastonbury (this coming Saturday, July 20, will be sing-along #100!). Audiences have enjoyed singing along to typical ukulele fare like “You Are My Sunshine” and “Five Foot Two.” Other songs are less readily associated with the ukulele, such as “Smoke Gets In Your Eyes,” “Why Do Fools Fall In Love,” and “Who Put the Bomp (in the Bomp-Ba-Bomp-Ba-Bomp).” Many genres of music are “on the table” for the band, including jazz, folk, rock, Elvis, Beatles, show tunes, and even Yiddish songs.
